I began my yoga journey on the mat in 2006. I knew this was a practice that I wanted to maintain and the more I learned, the more I wanted to share this experience with other people. My learning journey took me to Western North Carolina where I began training in the beautiful town of Black Mountain at Black Mountain Yoga. There I learned the anatomy of yoga and how poses help to heal and assist the human body. The next level of training was from Asheville Yoga Center. I obtained my 500 RYT and have since taught the required number of hours and am registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-500RYT. My style stems from power yoga and core but always adding in some nice restorative and helpful poses for certain over-used parts of the body. See you on the mat!
I consider myself as a professional dancer and have performed both in the United States and Abroad. Currently, I am a Zumba instructor and help with the Hypertension clinic for Volunteers in Medicine.
Heather started her aquatic fitness journey as a kid in a swimming pool in Nebraska. Her hard work and dedication helped her become a high school All American. The Arizona Wildcats took notice. She attended the University of Arizona where she was an NCAA All American in swimming and Olympic Trial Qualifier in backstroke. Heather majored in Family & Consumer Science. She relocated to Atlanta after college. Currently she is working as a USA Swim Coach for Hilton Head Aquatics, an ACE Personal Trainer, and an aquatic fitness instructor. Heather spends her free time raising her 2 kids, riding her beach cruiser, and because this is Heather, more swimming in long distance open water events.
Jen Edwards has over 20 years of experience as an AFAA certified fitness trainer, and is the creator and owner of SWEAT Boot Camp in Hilton Head and Bluffton. Her passion is helping people look and feel their best through fun and effective fitness. A diverse background as a seasoned Massage Therapist, Yoga and Meditation Teacher, Workshop Presenter/Facilitator and Lifestyle and Wellness Coach, Beryl is also a Voice Teacher and professional Jazz Singer. Her passion is helping others to learn how to lead a more balanced, happier, and peaceful life.
Chris will help you achieve your fitness goals in her customized classes. A graduate of Western Michigan University, Chris has been influential in the fitness induced for over 18 years. She has worked as a fitness coordinator for Greenville Hospital Systems where she oversaw the day-to-day operations including cardiac rehabilitation. She holds multiple certifications including group fitness, personal training, TRX and holds her comprehensive Pilates certification through Balanced Body.
My name is Victoria but everybody knows me as Chikis. I was born in a beautiful place called Ixtlan Del Río, Nayarit, Mexico. I have been teaching Zumba for more than two years and I just love it! Every single class makes me feel happy, it is like going to a party, and parties mean fun. If I feel stressed out, Zumba takes it all away! All I can say is, come party with Chikis and you are going to have a blast, you will never regret it.
Victoria is originally from Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She fell in love with exercise since she was 17 years old but wasn’t until she came to U.S.A that she decided and could get into the fitness industry when she was 33 years old. She became a Yoga Instructor eight years ago at The Yoga Stone studio at Dallas, Texas. She started teaching at the library of Hilton Head as a volunteer and later on, started working at The Country Club of Hilton Head Plantation and at Tide Point Vi retirement, teaching Water aerobics, Low impact aerobics and strengthen and stretch classes. Her current certifications are: Water aerobics, Aqua Zumba, Barre, Tabata, Zumba and CPR/AED First Aid.
She currently lives on Hilton Head Island with her husband and two children. She is passionate about exercise and nutrition as well as teaching exercise classes.
Adam grew up on HH graduating from HHHS and USCB. After leaving the area Adam went on to study Sports Nutrition, Substance Counseling, Wildlife/forestry Conservation, Recreation and Relaxation Therapies all while amending his own Yoga practice spanning 10+ years. After attending The Devotional school of yoga, & Ak’bol of Belize Adam is now 200 hr/ryt as well as 200 hr/ E-ryt under the supervision of the YOGA ALLIANCE. Currently between Bluffton and HHI Adam teaches regularly facilitates 8 other sessions a week, on Behalf of Adam’s Balanced Citta, and is the programs manager for The Outside Foundation, and the Adventure Based Counselor for Magnolia Recovery.
I fell in love with dancing at 6 learning how to waltz with my father to “Fascination”. I then started dancing school and took lessons until I was 16 at Studio Workshop in Lyndhurst, NJ.
After raising my children, I started tap and jazz lessons with John Nucera of Lyndhurst. John and I co-founded The Best Foot Forward Dance Troupe, Inc., a non-profit corporation. I was President of the Troupe from January 1998 until I relocated to Bluffton, SC, in December of 2018. The Troupe is still performing. 2005 to the present, I have been working mostly with the senior community teaching ballroom-style Line Dancing, Tap, Dancercise, and Zumba Gold.
